Met an English woman in the evening at Ledigos who I walked with today.
She and her husband now live in France and she is a dead keen runner (done several marathons, including twice the London one). She is quite the chatter but I was ready for a chatty day and it was another flat walk.
Turns out she walked a few kms with Leonie so I now know that she has kept going which is good. When we got to Sahagun the town was covered in hige heavy iron fences and we found that they were preparing for bull running in the streets (unfortunately not the day we were there). We made our way through the town to the much advertised new albergue but it was horrid so we doubled back and checked into the Benedictine convent instead.
It was an extremely nice place but the hospitalierio (the volunteer assigned to look after the pigrims) was an utter control freak and made our stay less pleasant than it could have been. Under the guise of ask me if you need anything was the unspoken rule - thou shalt not touch anything without me. So if we want to make a hot drink - he is the one to boil the water and pour it into the cup. If you want to use the microwave you must ask. grrrrrrr
Anyway it was pleasant enough for a one night stay. When I can load photos I will show you storks. I mentioned cuckoos but forgot to say that every last church tower has storks nesting in it. Wonderful birds.
Thanks for posts and email and news and sorry not time to reply to them with people always breathing down my nexk to get on the computer.
