Trabadelos to O Cebriero

I gave in and had my pack carried today and it was a good call. It was a particularly pituresque day and really lovely to enjoy it without the weight (and without the feel of blister pus dribbling down my back)!

The walk was through a lot of small villages and chestnut forest to a high point that marks the official entry in to Gallicea.

Now I am discovering more the Gallicea language in double quick time. Having got used to two sets of names for showers and toilets I am now on set three. From servicios to aseos to lavabos for the toilets but harder to know what sex you are.The showers have no doors or curtains so it is good to be clear on the fact that one is a mulleres and not the other thing.

The Spanish have warned me that although the Galliceans are very friendly they are also very very slow, which is (apparently) attributable to their celticness.

Today I met a New Zealand couple, the first NZers I have met on the Camino (did meet one lady but she has been living in England a long time), and of course Leonie (yes she passes herself off as a kiwi these days - which is fair enough, she took citizenship and everything but always took me aback because to me she is so very Australian.

The other interesting thing that happened today was seeing a Spanish wedding. What I really liked was that when the church bit was done there wasn´t a great hiatus while the star couple went off on a photo shoot. Rather their was a band and wine, right there outside the church and the couple mixing with everyone. Later they would do the rest of it. Lovely!

The celtic theme continued with the band playing bagpipes and celtic music as do all the bars and cafes
